    Duties & Responsibilities

    As a Field Service Engineer, you will maintain and troubleshoot our comprehensive range of detection technologies, including Computed Tomography, X-ray, trace detection and infrared spectroscopy.

    They are vital in sustaining our world-class service to customers in the global transportation, port and borders, critical infrastructure, military and emergency responder markets.

  • Troubleshoot, service, install and repair Explosive Detection Systems (EDS), Conventional X-Ray Systems (CXS) or Explosive Trace Detection (ETD) equipment at customer sites.
  • Maintain field service log and filing system to properly initiate, organize and maintain all field service and job files until work is completed.
  • Meet daily service repair needs and driving customer satisfaction.
  • Document all inspections, maintenance, repair work and submits paperwork in a timely basis.
  • Order, install, and return parts and manages repair parts cycle time.
  • Reviews all logs for open issues and prepares formal reports to customers as necessary.
  • Participate in Service sales opportunities and assists with promoting and implementing revenue programs.
  • Ensures that tools and test equipment are properly maintained and calibrated.
  • Assess product / equipment performance based on field support data; provide recommendations on necessary modifications or improvements.

    The Individual

    What you’ll definitely need :

  • Formal education in an engineering discipline, or apprenticeship gained in the Military / large organization, coupled with relevant trade certificates.
  • Strong electrical and electronic fault-finding skills, including reading schematics, wiring diagrams and technical manuals.
  • Ability to maintain and repair complex electromechanical equipment.

  • Computer literacy; competency in use of all programs within MS Office Suite and aptitude for learning specialized software programs.

  • While supervision is not considered a primary responsibility of this position, there may be instances where supervision of others on a project basis may be required.
  • Due to the nature and the key positioning of this role, you will need to demonstrate a degree of flexibility to work outside of normal working hours and the willingness to travel at short notice.
