Test Development Engineer

On-going Contract

£25ph Umbrella / PAYE On-going Contract

The Test Development Engineer sought for a leading global manufacturer of high specification transport equipment on an on-going contract basis.

The role would be suited to an experienced Test Development engineer or candidates with proactical experience of National Instruments Labview.

Exposure to hardware design and measuring instruments would be highly advantegous as would knowledge of circuit diagrams and and test solutions, though any relevant experience would be considered.

You will be confident in writing test methods and implementing changes.

The core function of the role is develop software using National Instruments Labview and Hardware design and specification of measuring instruments test fixtures and cable harnesses.

In you will provide technical support to the manufacturing areas and assist with electronic debugging. You will be self motivated, flexible and a competent engineer with strong development and testing knowledge and skills.

The role in brief :

Test Development Engineer using National Instruments Labview

Hardware Design and specification of measuring instruments, test fixtures and cable harnesses

Interpret equipment specifications and circuit diagrams to develop comprehensive test solutions.

Write the test methods and train the technicians on the use of the equipment

Interface with the Product design team to resolve technical problems and raise Engineering changes.

Implement design changes to test equipment and test methods as a result of product changes.

Resolve manufacturing problems in a timely manner.

Investigate and evaluate test equipment improvements resulting in an increase in test equipment reliability or efficiency.

Introducing quality improvements to achieve Right First Time’ standards.

Be an active part of the New Product Introduction team to introduce electronic based products into the market place.

Manage projects and work with the NPI manager to create bespoke test solutions

Carry out additional duties as requested by the Engineering manager

The Person Required :

Experience of Labview

Degree of equivalent in an engineering related subject or relevant experience

Testing and development experience

Some knowledge of UK test facilities and laboratories
