What are we looking for?
We have a great opportunity for a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to join our manufacturing team under our City Technology brand to be based in Portsmouth, England.
What will you be doing?
The individual will design, setup and develop production lines / processes utilising lean principles to optimise cell productivity.
Review existing production Cells and implement changes to improve labour utilisation.
Provide support to the manufacturing Cells and drive continuous improvement through RCA.
Provide solutions / improvements to address HSE issues
Provide technical / Process support to Engineering Technicians in support of RCA.
To ensure that all new or modified processes, equipment and materials are introduced and used in accordance with UK Health and Safety regulations and Company Procedures.
To ensure process, equipment and ergonomic risk assessments are completed where necessary.
To assist the Technician team in determining the correct TPM activities and schedules.
Ensuring accurate completion of Kaizen ideas
Be a key driver in our safety first culture
Procure new or improve existing equipment, through either in house modifications or third party. Via local approval or Capital approval requests.
A broad range of qualifications or experience may be acceptable, however it is envisaged that a minimum of HNC or equivalent in an Engineering discipline, preferably in Mechanical and Production Engineering, or recognised time served apprenticeship
Previous experience of mechanical or production engineering in an automated environment
Strong numerical / analytical ability
Understanding of lean manufacturing
Hands on practical Engineering skills
Proven experience in leading projects, as well as day to day responsibilities
Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate with multiple business functions
Experience in a medium to high volume production environment
Working knowledge of Microsoft packages
Dedicated in HSE
Demonstrable RCA analytical skills.
Knowledge of quality systems
Supervisory experience desirable
Six Sigma Green Belt qualification (or practical application) is desirable.
Working knowledge of assembly automation
