Introduction to the role

The Account Director is responsible for leading a team of 6 people who handle all the programmatic AV buying for one of OMG’s media agencies.

As the lead for the team, the Account Director is responsible for the team’s development, the delivery of best in class programmatic buying for AV channels and for innovating and testing in new areas.

You will have the opportunity to work across a variety of advertiser categories ranging across entertainment, automotive, FMCG, retail, banking and more.

  • The agency planners will need your expertise in creating and developing roadmaps for AV strategy and programmatic buying;
  • designing tests for new tools, formats and inventory opportunities; and bringing strategic ways to enhance first party data usage as well as looking to generate improvements for overall performance.

    As a digital evangelist you should have experience in programmatic planning, buying, and have good knowledge of the audio and video landscape.

    You should have a clear understanding of the wider AV ecosystem and have hands on experience using Demand Side Platforms or relatable platforms.

    You will need to keep up to date with the latest changes in buy-side technology to help your immediate team and agency stakeholders understand the best ways to measure, plan and buy AV opportunities using programmatic buying methods.

    The right leader for the team will have a positive, collaborative, and proactive attitude, and be able to foster strong relationships both internally and working closely with our technology partners.

    As an Account Director you will develop your leadership skills, evolve your AV expertise as a digital practitioner, and play a pivotal role in helping shape the future of digital AV planning and buying products at OMG.

    Experience and skills required

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience within the video and / or audio digital ecosystem whether that be from publisher, operations, supply or buy side Equivalent channel or platform-based experience will also be considered as well as TV buying experience
  • Knowledge and practical application of using different AV formats across YouTube, pre-roll, CTV and audio
  • Experience in people management with the ability to identify objectives and set personal development plans for activation based roles
  • Proven ability to build effective partnerships with media, data and technology partners to work collaboratively in meeting shared goals
  • Confidence in presenting programmatic concepts and strategies to senior stakeholders
  • Ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing that will aid developing business cases, and presenting recommendations to obtain agreement on new initiatives
  • Process driven with experience of defining new operational processes and / or experience of improving ways of working to drive efficiencies
  • Good self-organisation as well as ability to help manage workloads and priorities for the team
  • A passion and enthusiasm for the evolving AV and digital landscape with appetite to be at the forefront of industry testing and product development
  • Familiarity with the different measurement solutions that are used for measuring effectiveness of AV activity
  • Confidence with basic statistics and data analysis
  • Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the development and output of one of the Programmatic AV Activation teams as the team lead
  • Oversee your team’s successful end to end delivery of all video and audio activity across multiple DSPs including DV360, Adswizz, The Trade Desk, Xandr and Amazon
  • Develop, maintain and continually look to improve operational best practices for your team
  • Build relationships with key technology partners to ensure your clients have priority access to new products, features and beta opportunities;
  • as well as help to develop joint business roadmaps

  • Identity new testing opportunities for your clients across buying tactics and measurement abilities
  • Lead areas of product to help OMG develop and improve application of data, measurement, and test new formats in emerging AV environments
  • Support internal product development by looking for opportunities to discuss products in relation to client needs and providing product feedback to owners to help with improvements
  • Look for ways to improve buying practices to utilise first party data and drive cost efficiencies
  • Lead feature testing with buy side tools to provide our partners with product feedback and demonstrate value of how features / tools drive a valuable outcome for the campaigns
  • Work in partnership with key AV planners in the agency to develop strategic roadmaps for your clients to improve and grow programmatic buying practices
  • Keep internal stakeholders informed of your team’s performance and identify areas for improvement or growth
  • Support your individual team with activation led expertise by helping to identify areas for campaign improvement, navigate troubleshooting issues, and opportunities for testing
  • Provide personal development plans and support for Managers of your team; and identify training requirements and develop ways to get the best from your team
  • Develop internal case studies to showcase effectiveness and outcomes for programmatic AV buying strategies
  • Support in new business opportunities for the agency by helping to write pitch material and award entries
