The Role

As the first-ever Strategy Analyst - People Development at Ciena, you’ll have the unique chance to create a pioneering strategy focused on the company’s future skills ambition linking this to our talent development roadmap.

You will own the creation and execution of our skills strategy dedicated to building a strategic plan for data collection, analytics, and recommendations that support our future workforce plans and learning roadmaps.


Build and maintain a database of future skills and work with leaders across the organization to identify future re-skilling pathways, evolving candidate pools, and improve internal mobility through upskilling opportunities.

Work with our L&D team and business leaders to build upskilling and on the job retraining opportunities for people to learn new skills and put them into practice through cross-function engagement and project involvement.

What you need to be able to perform the role :

  • Demonstrated experience in any field where you can show proven skills in the following areas : Business Process Skills Stakeholder Management Project Management
  • A strong motivation to develop this new strategy for Ciena, whilst at the same time, gaining valuable skills & experiences to help you progress your own career development
  • Curiosity about topics around future skill, learning & development, organization operating models.
  • Good to have, but not required :

  • Human Resources Background
