What you will do

As a result of recent growth, there is an exciting opportunity for a Project Sales Engineer within our Building Management Systems (BMS) & Technology business.

This new role will manage and develop relationships with a number of large important customers within the BMS market. The role will focus on growth of existing customer relationships with targeted expansion plans through new customers and projects within a specific vertical.

The aim of the Project Sales Engineer will be to work with general contractors and consultants to increase new projects business for Johnson Controls.

Also, be able to demonstrate knowledge on SMART building platforms that we can bring to clients. The Business development manager will be promoting world leading technology and software in a company with double digit growth and a best in class reputation.

How you will do it

As Project Sales Engineer you will be empowered to make decisions and effectively manage key accounts whilst dealing with an element of ambiguity.

You will excel within a commercial environment, managing multiple priorities simultaneously, leaning on your excellent planning, organisation and sales skills.

A key part of the role is to map the customer network, understand the full organisation and define a tailored account plan.

You will lead and develop relationships and own a proactive plan to ensure our customers understand the true value our integrated solutions provide.

The successful candidate will excel in transitioning the discussion away from compliance towards technology and BMS solutions and how this solves mission critical end user challenges delivering true value through the customer lifecycle.

What we look for

  • Experience and proven track record as a Project Sales Engineer, Business Development Manager / BDM or Account Manager function.
  • Industry understanding and working knowledge of BMS systems and installation projects.
  • Ability to energise and align others to deliver in an engaging way
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate the value in complex and often bespoke solutions
  • Large account management experience ideally from within a building services / solution environment
  • Strong Sales background with a proven track record of delivering within a commercial environment
  • Ability to manage, influence and collaborate with both internal & external stakeholders at all levels
