About the role

Balfour Beatty has an exciting opportunity for a SENIOR QUANTITY SURVEYOR to join our Highways team to work in Bristol.

Role Purpose :

  • To support and manage the development and implementation of a strategy to increase the commercial performance of their allocated section of the business against agreed targets.
  • To lead not only all the commercial function, but also all processes relating to the commercial function.
  • What you'll be doing

    As a SENIOR QUANTITY SURVEYOR, you will have the following accountabilties :

  • Assessing allocated compensation events including responsibility for managing time impacts as well as cost;
  • Obtaining information from other team disciplines to allow CE's to be assessed;
  • Understanding the consequential effects;
  • Ensure that the commercial performance compensation event recovery is maximised monitored and reported, and business objectives are achieved;
  • Protect BBMPs commercial position at all times, including risk mitigation advice, avoidance and / or mitigation of any potential commercial risks on the Hinkley Marine project;
  • Co-ordinates and contributes towards resolution of commercially disputed matters.
  • Who we're looking for

    You will have the following qualities and experience :

  • You will have appropriate qualifications, and professional membership of the RICS, CIOB or ICES is desirable;
  • Will hold a valid CSCS card;
  • Significant commercial and management experience within the construction and piling industry;
  • Evidence of recent management / leadership development is required;
  • A strong understanding of technical piling issues is preferred;
  • Proven track record of depth of experience in given field of commercial management.
