Do you understand the code for business success?
Working with existing Lead Developers and Testers as well as other IT functions, your role is to build, maintain, implement, audit and improve Haven Power’s Smart Metering systems.
Supporting a user base of 450 people, your IT solutions will be in line with the company’s agreed quality standards and delivered within the defined timescales and budget.
In addition, they’ll make a direct contribution to corporate objectives and the business strategy.
Your understanding of the full development life-cycle - including your knowledge of Agile development practices such as continuous integration and test-
driven development (TDD) - will be key. Equally important is your experience in using multiple technologies, appropriate techniques and methodologies.
For example, you’ll need to be familiar with unit testing frameworks and mocking frameworks, plus enterprise databases including SQL Server and Oracle.
You should also be comfortable using Object-oriented (OO) design principles, as applied to problem determination and resolution.
As part of your role, you’ll take technical responsibility for all stages and / or iterations within software development projects, providing method-
specific technical advice and guidance to project stakeholders. You’ll be expected to assign work packages, monitor performance and manage change control dynamically, with the aim to optimise productivity.
And, you should be willing and able to offer advice, guidance and assistance to less experienced colleagues as needed.
In this role, you’ll also use your analytical skills to review existing code, develop test scripts and procedures, and write / maintain new source code.
You’ll assess technical specifications too, while also taking responsibility for building secure systems and releasing code with relevant documentation.

g. ISO27001, OWASP), and experience in Cloud platform and AWS Serverless platform offerings (AWS Step functions, AWS Lambda).
In addition, a knowledge of AWS resource tooling (e.g. S3, Lambda, AWS Step, SQS, SNS) and Infrastructure as Code (e.g. Cloud formation, Terraform) will be advantageous.
