What’s the role?
As our Chef De Partie within our Chef Brigade you'll have a vital role in leading our Chef Brigade in the production of our freshly made food to serve across our 1000-seater Dining areas.
Whether coaching your team, creating new daily and weekly menu specials, making the perfect pasta sauce or having great teamwork, you will be at the heart of a busy Chef Team.
Your daily role will include;
Producing freshly made food in volume, made at the highest standards.
Maintaining high standards of hygiene.
Ordering, dealing with deliveries and stock rotation.
Creates daily and weekly special menus.
Empowers Commis and Demi Chefs in the Chef Brigade and supports their development.
Able to produce creative dishes with costings to the highest specification in line with margins and able to present to the Senior Team for agreement.
Reviews departmental sales performance and communicates to team.
Adheres to all department statutory requirements including food safety, hygiene, health and Safety, fire safety, employment, financial and environmental and conducts monthly audits.
Our ideal Chef De Partie will have the below skills and experience;
This role would be ideal for a hardworking, disciplined team player with a lot of stamina who possesses a friendly personality.
Previous experience in a similar food environment as a Chef De Partie for 1 + years is essential.
Experience of working in a high-volume Restaurant or similar is essential.
Ability to lead and coach their small team.
You'll have the ability to learn on your feet and be passionate about food because we're not going to lie, cooking in a high-pressure kitchen can be hard work but super rewarding!
Shows the ability to work at pace and under pressure.
The ability to work effectively as part of a large team.
Other details of the Commis Chef role :
The role offers full time hours of 42.5 average weekly hours, you'll have one set day off each week, and work alternate weekends and an evening shift (but only until 8 / 9pm!).
Start date from April 2020.
There is enhanced overtime payment rates available for additional shifts worked.
Please note, during the induction and training period of 3 months, the successful candidate will need to work every weekend having 2 weekday shifts off.
A flexible approach is required.
The role is on a permanent basis.
