If you are passionate about supporting people with an Autism Spectrum Condition or learning disability with high quality care and support then we want to hear from you.

We are seeking enthusiastic and resilient Support Workers with good communication skills to join our team. You will work alongside people who use our services, supporting in a range of activities, including developing independence in daily living, accessing work / education and leisure activities.

At Autism Initiatives we work alongside people with autism, providing specialist services tailored to each individual. Experience is not essential, but a genuine passion for providing person centred support as well as a positive attitude, is key to being successful in this role.

Given the nature of the role, these positions are subject to an enhanced check by Access NI for the successful applicants.

The cost of which will be met by Autism Initiatives.

You will be required to refund the Access NI cost of £33.00 to Autism Initiatives if you leave your employment within six months of your commencement date.

  • Essential Criteria :

  • 6 months experience working (paid or voluntary) and / or working towards or in receipt of a relevant qualification. Eg;
  • QCF in Health and Social Care.

  • Full UK Driving Licence held for at least one year.
  • Demonstrate accurate numeracy and literacy skills.
  • Autism Initiatives is committed to working in partnership with people who use our services, their families, commissioners and others to provide a specialist, autism specific, person centred and outcome focused service for people with autism spectrum conditions.

    All staff are expected to :

  • Work in the context of Autism Initiatives’ Vision, Mission and Philosophy and to use our Five Point Star’ approach in order to support people who uses our services in achieving their goals.
  • Work to develop their abilities in line with the Autism Initiatives Competency Framework.
  • Recognise the positive abilities of the people who use our services and support our shared belief in life-long learning.
  • Adhere to the Autism Initiatives’ Code of Conduct and the General Social Care Council’s Code of Practice, showing a high degree of professionalism, resilience, and a willingness to remain committed during particularly demanding times.
