We are looking for a suitably experienced, dedicated and enthusiastic person to join our team as an Assistant Farming Adviser for two years.
You will be guided by our Farming and Wildlife Advisers to provide support and technical knowledge to our properties, driving higher standards of conservation-
led land management. Your work will directly help to deliver the objectives within our 2025 Strategy to restore a healthy, beautiful natural environment.
If you have a strong understanding of farming and land management, a commitment to a conservation led approach to land management and have an ability to work with a wide range of people to focus on delivery then we want to hear from you!
What it's like to work here
We're a charity founded in 1895 by three people who saw the importance of our nation's heritage and open spaces and wanted to preserve them for everyone to enjoy.
Over 100 years later these values are still at the heart of everything we do.
We are offering an exciting role where you can make a positive difference to some of our 30,000 hectares of land in our London & South East region.
This post will be based out of our Chilterns Hub in High Wycombe or at our Wisley hub in Surrey, depending on your preference, and you’ll have the opportunity to work on a fantastic range of places across South East England, ranging from the chalk hills of the Chilterns and South Downs, the rich coastal landscapes of the Isle of Wight and the South Coast to the splendour and magnificence of historic estates such as Stowe, and Petworth.
Interviews will be on 7th February 2019.
What you'll be doing
Under the guidance of our Farming and Wildlife Advisers, you'll be providing consultancy advice and support to our properties and tenants, to achieve a high standard of sustainable land, soil and water management.
You’ll take forward our best opportunities to influence land management and ensure that our farms are managed in a way that is good for nature, the environment, and the tenant.
You’ll be working closely with your consultant colleagues to come up with the best outcomes for the Trust and our tenants.
You’ll also help to ensure our property teams are compliant with National Trust and external regulations relating to food and farming.
This is an exciting opportunity to support our property staff to help drive exemplary conservation-led land management in our London & South East region.
