Description of the Business Line or Department - Summary of the business, coverage, services

Societe Generale Securities Services (SGSS) in the UK is a business line of Societe Generale London Branch.

Services provided by SGSS to a diversified landscape of clients include :

  • Custody & Trustee Services
  • Fund Administration & Asset Servicing
  • Fund Distribution
  • Liquidity Management
  • Issuer Services
  • Clearing Services
  • Within SGSS UK, the main mission of SGSS Product Engineering department is to design new customer products / solutions in coordination with the Business Solution team as well as to lead the feasibility study and the implementation in collaboration with the operational departments and the support functions (Legal, Risk, Compliance, etc).

    The Product Engineer will help define and support the implementation of the product roadmap of SGSS UK. He / She will mainly support product initiatives on the UK Funds services and Custody perimeter, throughout the product lifecycle, but may also lead or support product development initiatives especially on Global Broker Dealer Outsourcing solution but also on other service perimeters on an exceptional basis.

    In his role, the Product Engineer will have to take ownership of the different product initiatives and deliver them in autonomy.

  • Define and launch new services
  • Find solution for new client requirements
  • Provide Product expertise to Business Solutions (SOL) during commercial discussions
  • Be responsible for knowing the production costs
  • Be an entry point for product queries from other departments
  • Provide product expertise to internal stakeholder
  • Provide market intelligence
  • Summary of responsibilities - Minimum of 6 responsibilities to be identified

  • New Product Committees (NPC) and Living Product Review Committees (LPRC) process :
  • To organise workshops with internal stakeholders in the context of NPC and LPRC;
  • To build and update retro-planning and tracker to monitor NPC and LPRC progress;
  • Follow-up on conditions after New Product Committees’ validation.

  • Take the lead in Pre-Studies or other Product Initiatives by acting as the Product SME
  • Act as project manager to deliver those initiatives end to end
  • Design possible Target Operating Model solutions with operational departments to initiate the implementation phase of new services or enhancement of existing solutions.
  • Review drafts of client SLAs in collaboration with the client service departments.
  • Contribute to find solutions to new client requirements.
  • Gather data on the production costs of SGSS UK services from the operational departments.
  • Prepare product package and maintain it (commercial presentation in relation with SOL, Business case templates, costs matrix, service description, onboarding kit )
  • Level of Autonomy and Authority - Define the autonomy of the role and what the job holder can authorise and make decisions on - If applicable

    Lead Pre-Studies or other product initiatives when required and define the approach for formal internal validation process of product initiatives in collaboration with the NPC Chair (SAFE)
