A contributor accountable for the delivery and execution of the strategic Financial Crime Compliance agenda in collaboration with the wider function and relevant business areas.

Providing a second line of defence by supporting the MLRO in the execution of their oversight duties, by providing specialist advisory services to, and project oversight of, specific initiatives with the Financial Crime change portfolio across SanUK.

What you’ll be doing

  • Acting as the primary point of contact for specific capabilities within financial crime change programs on all Financial Crime matters (AML, CTF, ABC, Sanctions and Tax Evasion), including advising the project on how to interpret and implement Santander UK Financial Crime Policies and Standards, with a specific focus on trade finance and / or corporate banking.
  • Providing concise and easily understandable financial crime advice and coaching on complex subject matters for non-financial crime change driven activity within the bank (e.
  • g. new products and initiatives).

  • Executing 2LOD approval of relevant design and delivery artefacts.
  • Executing the MLRO’s oversight responsibilities through independent validation of project milestone delivery and working across the 2LOD
  • Updating the Head of Financial Crime Change Oversight on the progress of work being performed and any issues identified on a timely basis
  • What we’re looking for

    We are looking for people who can help shape, influence and transform the bank’s capabilities, ensuring we continue to disrupt financial crime, and support and enable the right outcomes for our customers

    This role requires :

  • Good understanding of the financial services industry including the political and economic environment and Santander strategy and initiatives.
  • Good knowledge and understanding of regulatory framework of UK and EU financial services, industry trends and best practice, specifically in the area of corporate banking and / or trade finance.
  • Experience of working in Oversight across different aspects of financial services
  • Experience of Framework / policy / procedures drafting in a compliance environment.
  • Able to apply commerciality and judgement from a regulatory perspective to internal and market information.
  • Ability to analyse and evaluate complex issues and sound judgement in determining appropriate actions / solutions.
