We have an opportunity for a Sterile Services Technician to join their team of staff in the Decontamination department based in Aylesford, Kent.
This is a Full time role for 37.5 hours a week. The role holder will be required to cover a flexible shift pattern.
Applicants should meet the following criteria :
Decontamination experience desirable but not essential as training will be provided.
Ability to work under pressure.
Ability to prioritise work and meet deadlines.

Duties of this role include :
To assist in providing a first-class decontamination sterile service and Endoscopy service to the operating department, clinical departments and relevant paramedical departments
To ensure all equipment is maintained to the required standard of safety
To assist the senior staff in liaising with departments to ensure regular supply of items is maintained
To report any problems with equipment or instruments to senior staff
To maintain the accepted Health & Safety requirements for the protection of staff and visitors
To ensure that adequate stock levels are maintained in conjunction with senior staff
To ensure that the department is kept clean and tidy
To ensure the safe operation of autoclaves and washer disinfectors including documentation of results.
To work as an active member of the team ensuring agreed standards are maintained
To ensure that instruments and equipment processed through the unit is inspected, processed, assembled, packed and sterilised effectively in accordance with BMI Hospital Decontamination’s operational instructions to meet customer requirements
