Do you enjoy working with engineering teams to create detailed designs, plans, specifications, and estimates? We have a great opportunity for an engineer who enjoys working with multidisciplinary teams throughout the entire span of a project, from the initial concept development, through drawings / specifications, to report preparation and equipment sizing and selection, and finally meaningful engagement during the construction contract.

As an Mechanical Engineer you will be required to design and undertake project tasks designated by project managers.

With a keen eye for detail, you will be conversant with all aspects of mechanical engineering and comfortable working as part of a multi-discipline team.

Whilst you will be a competent & experienced designer, we are looking for a self-starter that can manage and develop resource to meet project demands.

It is important to maintain the highest level of technical excellence and regulatory compliance.

We will count on you to :

  • Agree design duties with your Project Manager and Office Principal / Team Leaders.
  • Carry out detailed design, production of tender documents, site snagging and witness testing.
  • Liaise with the design team to co-ordinate detailed designs and agree manufacturers and samples.
  • Maintain good client and design team relationships to achieve high levels of satisfaction and repeat business.
  • Assist colleagues with identifying and implementing your personal training / CPD requirements. Help develop working practices in the Company.
  • Implement and manage QA systems and procedures on all projects.
  • Implement requirements for ISO9001 and ISO14001 as needed.
  • Assist with CAD resource requirements.
  • Qualifications

    Skills & Requirements

  • Personable and a can do’ attitude with resource management experience
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills.
  • Able to establish rapport and good working relationships within the project team and Clients.
  • To be able to work as part as a team and collaboratively and co-operatively
  • Good experience, especially in designing projects, ideally 4 years’ industry experience.
  • Experience of monitoring contract staff or third-party appointments would be desirable.
  • Able to undertake computer modelling organise and direct the production of CAD drawings and correspond effectively with opposite numbers with other consultants.
  • Skills in project managing on-going jobs with limited supervision are desirable.
  • Experience in the same or similar position is desired.
  • Competency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook & PowerPoint.
  • The ability to project a positive and professional attitude at all times.
  • Educational qualifications to a degree level or equivalent are desired.
  • Incorporated Status in chosen discipline preferred and ongoing pursuit of Chartered status and business qualifications if not already achieved.
  • Good knowledge and use of appropriate project and design analysis software.
  • Conversant in design software such as Hevacomp, IES and AutoCAD.
  • Experience in Revit is desirable.
