About the role

The Global Director, Marketing Capabilities is responsible for designing and delivering the change program to upgrade the functional skills of our Marketing team in support of our ambitious agenda of organizational transformation.

You will lead the identification of skills development goals, develop the training and coaching interventions required, run sessions to impart knowledge and measure progress against defined goals.

You will partner with internal and external stakeholders, lead the extended capabilities team and champion the change program across the organization to drive significant positive change in our marketing and commercial effectiveness and efficiency.

Key accountabilities and responsibilities

  • Lead the continued successful embedding of our unique brand building approach, the Bacardi Way of Growth, across the Bacardi global organziation
  • Lead the design of the next generation of that approach, the Bacardi Way of Growth 2.0
  • Collaborate with key members of the Global Leadership team to integrate the new Bacardi corporate strategy and cultural behavior pillars into the Bacardi Way of Growth 2.0
  • Partner with the Global Commercial Development team to integrate the Bacardi Commercial Way into the Bacardi Way of Growth 2.
  • 0 and design and deliver baseline commercial training for the broader Marketing organization

  • Develop and execute an innovative learning program to train our people on the BWG 2.0
  • Lead design and execution of in-person learning experiences across our regions and oversee production of suite of digital and video-
  • based distance learning modules

  • Leverage technology to raise training effectiveness and efficiency and provide on demand access to key content and tools
  • Lead internal subject matter experts, agencies and our external capabilities consultant in ensuring that the BWG 2.0 frameworks, tools and training is best in class
  • Partner with our HR Talent Development Group and the Marketing Leadership team to create and embed a Marketing Competencies program for use in our people’s development and career plans, talent reviews and succession planning
  • Serve as a champion and internal subject matter expert for proper use of the BWG in creating world class Global Brand Strategies and Integrated Activity Plans

    Measures of success

  • Deliver new content on time and on budget; meet ambitious training goals
  • Marketing and commercial teams around the world actively using the Bacardi Way of Growth to build strategies, plans, programs and tools
  • Positive stakeholder feedback on the BWG 2.0 and the learning experiences
  • Strong integration of the Bacardi Way of Growth into the Annual Planning process
  • Significant increase in quality and consistency of global strategies and local brand plans

    Critical experiences for success

    To be successful in this role you will have / be :

  • Brand management experience in progressive roles up to Marketing Director or equivalent
  • A clear strategic thinker, who can connect strategy to world class execution
  • Experience in leading or supporting brand marketing plan development
  • Experience in multiple specialty areas such as advertising development, digital marketing, promotions design, events, PR and channel program development
  • Strong communicator with good verbal and written skills
  • Passionate about coaching and developing others
  • Ability to manage senior stakeholders and to motivate and inspire cross-functional teams
  • Strong process orientation with proven project management skills
  • Degree and / or professional marketing qualifications
  • Fluent command of English
  • The following experiences are preferred :

  • Classic marketing training from one of the corporate schools (e.g., P&G, Unilever, Coca-Colas, PepsiCo, Diageo)
  • Drinks or luxury category experience is an advantage
  • Experience in additional functions beyond Marketing to bring a greater perspective
  • Ability to work under pressure and deal with ambiguity
  • Proven success in working across multiple geographies and cultures
