Barclays are recruiting for a permanent KYC Analyst to work in the Barclays site in Northampton. This is a BA4 Corporate Grade Role which is one corporate grade below an AVP Assistant Vice President Level.

Your Role

The Know Your Customer (KYC) Team forms part of the BPF Operations Risk, Governance and Control Team which is responsible for ensuring the operational functions within BPF perform within the agreed risk appetite, agreed control thresholds and in line with applicable regulations and policies, thereby allowing Operations to focus on deliver excellent service to BPF customers and clients.

The team works closely with the Business Unit Conformance Office (BUCO) and Chief Control Office (CCO) teams, legal, regulatory and compliance teams.

The key themes include :

  • Risk, governance and control management co-ordination of 2LoD and 3LoD reviews, risk reporting, risk event management and control assessment.
  • Working with heads of operational functions to identify risk and controls that apply in their own business areas.
  • Gather information about BPF customers including those recorded as a Politically Exposed Person (PEP) and / or those posing a higher financial crime risk in accordance with Group policy and regulatory requirements (e.
  • g. Source of Wealth, Source of Funds, transactional history).

  • Prepare a customer case with all gathered information to give a recommendation on how to proceed with the customer relationship, for BUCO colleagues to review and approve.
  • Ensure that the KYC checks adhere to the relevant regulations, guidelines and processes that are in place to ensure compliance.
  • Undertake all necessary training to become appropriately trained and skilled to effectively carry out duties.
  • Ensure all activity is delivered in accordance with processes, procedures, and the control framework in place.
  • Notify to management any opportunities to improve processes, procedures or controls.
  • Essential Skills

  • Proven KYC Analyst experience with the ability to review and interpret complex data from a variety of sources
  • be highly organised with strong time management and prioritisation skills and be able to adopt and maintain a logical approach to tasks.
  • be highly analytical with strong written and verbal communication skills for the purpose of creating efficient and robust reports.
  • have, or be able to evidence the ability to develop, a strong understanding of Financial Crime regulations and policies (AML, Sanctions, Anti Bribery and Corruption).
  • Desirable Skills

  • Has experience in and a good understanding of Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Sanctions and regulatory control frameworks and best practices
  • Has experience with Know Your Customer (KYC) due diligence and enhanced due diligence processes
