2. Main Responsibilities : To assist the Technical Support Team in answering technical enquiries speaking directly with the Global Sales Team and end users.
To work as part of a team, managing the enquiries in a group technical support mailbox. To ask appropriate questions and extract the information required from application details in order to provide answers in a timely manner, either by phone or email.
To conduct research, where necessary, to understand the end application and put the information into context. To communicate with the R&D team, gathering additional data when available.
To manage multiple pieces of information and data and construct answers for others, putting technical information into an understandable and easily read format.
To assist Sales and Marketing departments with various documents and information, including writing technical support documents, article reviews, social media contributions, etc.
To carry out various administration tasks, including the management of Technical Data Sheets and Material Safety Data Sheets.
To efficiently communicate any new customer potentials to the Global Sales Team, passing on details for potentials to be followed up.
To work on enquiries and internal projects related to various legislative requirements, including but not limited to RoHS, REACH, H&S, GHS and CLP.
To offer technical training on the product range, including giving presentations and demonstrations of product use. To visit key customers with the relevant members of the Global Sales Team to gain knowledge and to help understand customer requirements within the technical support role.
To carry out simple tasks in the laboratory, such as analyse or inspect samples, process simple product applications. The ideal candidate will have a degree in chemistry, organic polymer and be fully competent in Microsoft Office including Excel and Word.
Other attributes that are vital to this role are a polite, confident telephone manner, strong communication skills with good sense of humour with the ability to problem solve.
