Clinical Fellow in Paediatric Anaesthesia
Sheffield Children’s NHS Foundation Trust provides integrated paediatric secondary care for Sheffield which has a resident population of just over 500,000, and tertiary services for a population of around 2 million.
The post involves joining a team of 23 Paediatric Consultants, another Fellow and 7 specialist trainees working at a dedicated children’s hospital within a Trust that provides all of the local paediatric medical services.
The Fellow will be based in theatre for the majority of the time and take part in the trainee rota which is EWTD compliant.
There are independently staffed Intensive Care and High Dependency Units.
The Pain Service is a well-established, multidisciplinary service. Sheffield Children’s is a designated trauma centre.
The theatre complex has 9 dedicated theatres with intra operative MRI. It undertakes regional and supra-regional surgical services comprising general, urology, neonatal, orthopaedic (including spinal and limb reconstruction), plastic, burns, ENT, max-fax, dental, neurosurgery and ophthalmology.
This post would be suitable for Anaesthetists either post CCT or who have completed their higher training in Paediatric Anaesthesia.
