  • An opportunity has arisen for a Goods Inwards Technical Support to join their team on a permanent basis.

    This is the ideal role for a Goods Inwards Technical Support looking to develop their career with an award

  • The Goods Inwards Technical Supports main duties are to ensure that incoming raw materials and packaging are delivered to the agreed specification.

    Retain samples / conduct analysis as required. Control quarantine and trial stock. Support with Technical Administration

    Duties & Responsibilities :

  • Support Goods
  • in to monitor the condition of goods on arrival.
  • Complete Raw material checks against specification and are stored in the correct location (chilled, ambient etc.)
  • Check the CofA / quality against specification prior to the goods being used in production.
  • Take reference samples and store in a logical manor.
  • Check packaging samples and carry out testing / analysis to agreed sampling plan including opening force .
  • Monitor BBE dates and request extensions / quarantine as appropriate and communicate to relevant departments.
  • Place raw materials / finished product etc. in quarantine as required. Ensure all documentation is completed.
  • Complete allergen labelling.
  • Check, collate and file documentation that has been completed as part of the quality system.
  • Carry out quality audits / additional quality assessments as required.
  • Complete bulk tasting and retention sampling.
  • Health and Safety responsibilities

  • Take reasonable care of the health and safety of yourself and of others who may be affected by what you do or do not do.
  • Use safety PPE provided, report missing or damaged items.
  • Follow procedures and risk assessments, highlight non
  • compliance immediately.
  • Report hazards, defects, and faults promptly. Report immediately to the most senior member of staff present on the premises when a hazard, fault, or defect becomes apparent.
  • Carry out instructions on safety notices and hazard signs
  • Follow COSHH (control of substances hazardous to health) regulations on the correct usage of all chemicals.
  • Adopt a †clean as you go’ policy, in which you clean the work area and any equipment you have used when the task is completed
  • Cooperate with the employer on health and safety matters at all times
  • Food safety and quality responsibilities

  • Follow all site hygiene rules
  • Maintain tractability of all finished product components
  • Support food safety to ensure compliance with company, governmental and customer requirements and expectations
  • Ensure procedures are followed, appropriate documentation completed and non
  • conformances highlighted if they occur
  • Qualifications / Experience

  • Previous experience of working within a technical / quality / goods inwards / manufacturing environment ideally within food or related industries
  • Food safety qualifications e.g. Foundation food hygiene certificate, HACCP (level2)
  • Team orientation and a collaborative working style
  • Good IT Skills
  • Ability to multi task in a high pressure environment

    Working hours 8 : 30am †5 : 00pm, Monday to Friday. £8.21 per hour
