Job Overview

Arup is a multi disciplinary global firm of designers, planners, engineers, consultants, and technical specialists, working across every aspect of the built environment.

Together, we help our clients solve their most complex challenges turning exciting ideas into tangible reality as we strive to find a better way and shape a better world.

As a wholly independent organisation, we are owned in trust for the benefit of our employees. This allows us to determine our own direction and to make clear-sighted, thoughtful, long-term decisions about our priorities as a business and as a member of a sustainable society.

Ending poverty through economic growth while addressing inequality, tackling climate change and preserving the world’s natural capital lies at the heart of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

But addressing the $3 trillion per annum financing gap to achieve the SDGs and Paris Agreement objectives in developing countries is a key challenge being progressed by the global financial system.

It requires experts from all disciplines and backgrounds to come together and collaborate.

Arup has made sustainability, including supporting our clients to identify, design, finance and deliver bankable SDG investment projects, its most important priority, through the launch of our Better Way Strategy.

We are already recognised as leading, award-winning consultants in supporting finance-sector clients identify and address environmental, social and governance (ESG) impacts, risks and opportunities of their investments on some of the most important advisory and engineering projects in Africa, Eastern Europe, Central and Western Asia today.

This includes several complex Lenders Environmental and Social Advisory roles, advice and support on sustainable outcome-led design to attract sustainable finance, ESG advice to investors and asset owners, and design and delivery of Green City Action Plans.

Our clients include the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, the International Finance Corporation, various commercial banks, Export Credit Agencies, and Development Financial Institutions, other investors along with their clients

Over the next three years we will substantially grow our Lenders’ Advisory, sustainable finance and Green Economy Transition business and so are looking to recruit across a range of skills and grades.

We are an employee-owned organisation which allows our members a unique opportunity to have a real say in our companies’ future, shape the exciting opportunities it can deliver and pursue work that aligns with their values and those of the firm.

If you want an opportunity to shape the delivery of sustainable finance and green economic transition in international projects and build a career at a firm that shares your passion for a sustainable future, we look forward to hearing from you.
