Here at The Sheffield College we have an opportunity for a Finance Manager to join our Finance team at a pivotal time.
The position of Finance Business Partner is a fantastic opportunity to use your team management skills in conjunction with your experience of preparing year end financial statements in a medium or large organisation.
Managing a team of 6, you will be reporting to the Head of Finance, and be a key member of the finance leadership team.
Key Duties of the role include :
Managing the Accounts Payable team of 4
Managing the Accounts Receivable and Cash and Banking functions
Developing Service Level Agreements for the financial accounts team, and reporting performance against these SLAs
Preparing the year end financial statements for the College
Managing the external audit process for the College
All aspects of VAT
Responsibilities of the Financial Accounts team include :
Ensuring accurate supplier Masterfile data is held
Making payments to suppliers within agreed payment terms
Ensuring all supplier invoices are authorised in accordance with College financial regulations
Ensuring all payments are approved in accordance with College financial regulations
Timely and accurate invoicing of students and other customers of the College as appropriate
Collection of all outstanding debt in accordance with College terms
Having process notes in place for all procedures, and ensuring adequate cover is provided during absence
Key requirements for applicants are :
Experience of managing teams in a changing environment
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong financial accounting skills, including preparation of year end financial statements in a medium or large organisation
High level of knowledge and awareness of internal controls and compliance with internal and external regulations / legislation
Experience of working in a medium / large organisation, with the associated level of complexity in systems and data (this can be in public or private sectors)
Hold a Professional accountancy qualification (ACCA / CIMA / CIPFA / ACA)
GCSE Maths and English at grade 4 / C or above (or equivalent)
