Here at The Sheffield College we have an opportunity for a Finance Manager to join our Finance team at a pivotal time.

The position of Finance Business Partner is a fantastic opportunity to use your team management skills in conjunction with your experience of preparing year end financial statements in a medium or large organisation.

Managing a team of 6, you will be reporting to the Head of Finance, and be a key member of the finance leadership team.

Key Duties of the role include :

  • Managing the Accounts Payable team of 4
  • Managing the Accounts Receivable and Cash and Banking functions
  • Developing Service Level Agreements for the financial accounts team, and reporting performance against these SLAs
  • Preparing the year end financial statements for the College
  • Managing the external audit process for the College
  • All aspects of VAT
  • Responsibilities of the Financial Accounts team include :

  • Ensuring accurate supplier Masterfile data is held
  • Making payments to suppliers within agreed payment terms
  • Ensuring all supplier invoices are authorised in accordance with College financial regulations
  • Ensuring all payments are approved in accordance with College financial regulations
  • Timely and accurate invoicing of students and other customers of the College as appropriate
  • Collection of all outstanding debt in accordance with College terms
  • Having process notes in place for all procedures, and ensuring adequate cover is provided during absence
  • Key requirements for applicants are :

  • Experience of managing teams in a changing environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong financial accounting skills, including preparation of year end financial statements in a medium or large organisation
  • High level of knowledge and awareness of internal controls and compliance with internal and external regulations / legislation
  • Experience of working in a medium / large organisation, with the associated level of complexity in systems and data (this can be in public or private sectors)
  • Hold a Professional accountancy qualification (ACCA / CIMA / CIPFA / ACA)
  • GCSE Maths and English at grade 4 / C or above (or equivalent)
