The purpose of the role
The Sustainability Materials Procurement Manager supports the definition and delivery of the global Natura & Co sustainable materials procurement strategy with a focus on Palm, Sugarcane, Alcohol, Soya, Cotton, mica, paper / wood.
High risk materials that need our careful attention and positive action.
The development and management of sourcing policies, sustainability risk management and positive impact projects for these materials fall in scope of the role, along with the provision of support for relevant sustainable product development and reporting.
This is a global role involving the four group companies and offers a unique breadth and depth of influence rarely found.
For the right individual with well-aligned expertise and shared values it falls squarely in the dream role category.
Primary Areas of Accountability
We are seeking an expert in the following :
Covering all four companies the heart of this opportunity is driving the implementation of the new Natura & Co sustainable materials procurement strategy with an unwavering focus on the triple bottom line delivery of our Commitment to Life target on six critical materials
All the while ensuring the alignment of internal teams and stakeholders to evolve a sustainable materials procurement strategy that will deals with a broader suite of high-risk materials In line with the overarching goals of the Commitment to Life (to address the climate crisis and protect the Amazon, defend human rights and be human kind, embrace circularity and regeneration) and the agreed brands sustainability commitments.
Stakeholder Engagement :
Your experience and subject matter expertise will be drawn upon to coach the raw materials procurement team and to cultivate effective cross functional working relationships internally within Natura & Co.
With your knowledge being shared we can educate and inform widely.
Externally youll build effective partnerships and be involved in positive impact projects and / or activism opportunities all linked to sustainable materials procurement and our market position on sustainable production and consumption.
Confident and articulate, you will relish the opportunity to be a brand ambassador for our Commitment to Life and brand sustainability commitments both internally and externally.
Your enthusiasm will inspire our staff, suppliers and customers and drive lasting change within and beyond our industry.

Strategy and words alone are not sufficient without outputs and results.
Leveraging cross group and brand collaboration, your expertise will enable you to proactively identify and resolve sustainability issues in in-scope supply chains.
Youll be at the fore-front of providing expert, timely and commercially relevant advice on social and environmental sustainability risks and opportunities related to high-risk material supply chains.
Youll lead the development, funding, approval and implementation of group-Wide and brand specific remediation and positive impact projects and define and implement internal control processes as part of a wider internal controls framework for in-scope materials.
The manipulation and use of data to identify critical areas of activity, to develop and track goals and engage and support Natura & Co teams will form part of your delivery objectives, along with supporting the development and delivery of our group and company innovation pipeline.
Outside of these key areas of involvement youll be involved in developing the team, maintaining ethical standards and controlling spend within your remit.

That means initiative, self-motivation and an entrepreneurial approach to getting things done with and through others.
What we look for
First and fore-most you will have significant experience of enabling businesses to manager the ethical and sustainability impact of their supply chains, in particular in relation to sustainable agriculture.
Youll be able to speak with authority and have numerous examples of strategies you have devised and implemented.
Youll have a solid understanding of the development and management of new raw material supply chains and of managing commercial relationships with suppliers to FMCG manufacturers
Experience of working with NGOs and experience of remediation of on the ground ethical, social and environmental supply chain issues will be important.
Language wise youll have fluent written and spoken English, with other languages especially Portuguese being highly desirable as youll have to communicate complex messages in a variety of formats to a range of audiences.
Youll have knowledge of African, Latin American and Asian supplier management and have a solid grasp of supplier performance evaluation and supplier selection in all geographies.
Ideally you will have experience of working with multiple brands within a branded retail context and all that entails.
