Job Description

Due to significant growth the Manchester Property Team are looking for ambitious and experienced Assistant Cost Consultants (Quantity Surveyors) demonstrating a high level of initiative and astuteness to be part of a wider team working on some of the regions most prestigious construction projects.

The Manchester Property Team has projects across the North and the Midlands. Delivering projects including high rise residential, sports stadia, commercial offices, cultural facilities, town centre redevelopment and hotel / leisure facilities we can offer experience across a fantastic range of built assets for the right candidate.

Role Purpose :

  • Where required, work autonomously demonstrating a productive and efficient level of time management and working with a level of initiative and foresight
  • Understand how to deliver service excellence and to ensure mutually positive outcomes for the client and the business being represented
  • Work collaboratively in a virtual team environment have a growth mindset and the confidence to suggest and implement improvements to how we operate
  • Work within established procedures to undertake tasks relating to the cost control of projects.
  • Review financial information in order to identify any anomalies or discrepancies to ensure up-to-date and accurate information
  • Individually contribute to a range of professional cost management assignments and monitor and review work undertaken by more junior colleagues, to ensure project tasks are undertaken and project milestones are met
  • Interpret data and prepare supporting documentation such as schedules, feasibility studies and cost reports, making straightforward recommendations to support senior colleagues in their decision-making process
  • Take a proactive role in assessing and evaluating cost and commercial management processes, sharing knowledge, identifying opportunities, and providing advice to help improve processes and systems
  • Apply technical methods and expertise to complete complex, professional level tasks as requested by colleagues, prioritising case load and interpreting established policies to effectively support the cost and commercial management function
  • Provide specialist advice and support on cost management queries to colleagues inside and clients and consultants outside the business, ensuring an efficient and high-quality provision of information to all internal and external stakeholders
