Summary of Responsibilities :
Reporting to the Executive Housekeeper, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following :
To help with the training, development and management of all Housekeeping Floor Porters. (interviewing, risk assessments, one to one conversations, disciplinary, annual reviews, etc)
Also to help to reduce expenses by shampooing carpets and upholstered furniture, repairing and maintaining the hoovers
To ensure that all Housekeeping Porters perform their duties in a professional manner an according to brand standards.
This role requires a considerable physical stamina, self-discipline, and time management skills. A critical attention to detail is extremely important.
The role is very hands-on, requiring a great deal of physical activity.
Carry out, Control, follow and update a schedule for the carpet shampoo, furniture upholstery shampoo and curtains in the rooms
Carry out, organize, follow up and update a schedule for the corridor shampoo carpet
Provide professional courtesies to guests (i.e. : assistance with luggage, directions, room location, restaurant hours, etc).
Organizing and taking part on the Stripping and stocking guest rooms and storage rooms. (Junkets)
Responsible for the maintenance of the hoovers. Responsible of ordering the missing, broken parts of the hoovers and deal with the hoover supplier
Organizing and taking part on the linen and guest amenities stock takes
Monthly visits to the linen storage to carry on inventories and reorganizing the storage
Responsible of the health and safety records for the House Porters
Responsible of organizing the weekly Rota for the House Porters under the supervision of the direct Manager (administrative duties)
Oversees, common areas, and storage areas clean and safe at all times.
Perform all other duties as required.
Previous Housekeeping experience an asset
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities
Highly responsible & reliable
Ability to work cohesively as part of a team with minimum supervision
Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times
Physical Aspects of Position (include but are not limited to) :
Constant standing and walking throughout shift
Frequent lifting and carrying up to 30 lbs
Frequent kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting
Occasional ascending or descending ladders, stairs and ramps
