The Raw Materials Manager will work closely with the technical, development and procurement teams to ensure site only uses approved, safe, and legal suppliers for packaging and ingredients.
The Raw Materials Manager will support the site and the QA function ensuring all raw material are delivered within the agreed spec, support the supplier in setting the specification and reviewing the parameters.
Integrity is a significant aspect of this role, challenging the supply base with trace activities. Project work plays a big part of the role, ensuring annual allergen validations are up to date, improving standards and getting involved in new manufacturing processes.
The successful candidate will ideally have a Food Science background, with a good working knowledge of Raw Materials management, experience of audits including BRC and RSPO, and knowledge of HACCP.
They will also have good communication and business partnering skills. Along with the ability to work at pace, have excellent organisational and administration skills and have experience supplier relationship experience.

As the Raw Materials Manager you will support site with BRC accreditation and retailer requirement by ensuring all documentation is kept up to date, along with the supplier list and related documentation.
Along with responsibility for laboratory budget and team management for the Process Champion and Raw materials Coordinator.
You will ensure that the Raw material testing schedule is met in full & QA Goods In are engaged in this process. Liaise with suppliers on ingredients & packaging issues and improvement.
Ensuring that the customer, site and legal requirements for raw material and supplier assurance are added to the raw material database.
You will have excellent stakeholder and business partnering skills, as you need to build strong relationships with procurement, development and technical colleagues, Support the supplier approval process
As the Raw Materials Manager you will be responsible for completing vulnerability risk assessments and chain of custody for all raw materials.
Ensure quality, food safety & risk evaluation system is up to date and fully maintained, responding to micro, nutritional, allergen and chemical testing frequency and communicate any adverse results.
You will provide technical support in the escalation or rejections ensuring all rejects are communicated to supplier and sites.
All relevant raw materials have appropriate intake specifications and you will maintain supplier accreditation documents i.
e. BRC certs, HACCP, Raw material specs. Assist with site customer and 3rd party audits, lead UTZ / RFA, and RSPO audits and be responsible for site allergen risk assessment.

Previous experience in a similar position within the Food Manufacturing sector
Ideally a Food science background, with HACCP & Food safety qualifications
Excellent organisational skills
Be able to work and resolve problems at pace
Data analysis, Excel to a developed level
Ideally experienced in Microsoft Sharepoint
