About The Role

DAS UK Group has an exciting new opportunity for a Solutions Architect to join the Architecture and Governance Team. This is a full time, permanent position based in central Bristol, however we are very open to discuss flexible working options.

The Solutions Architect will be responsible for defining high level, and detailed solution designs and options in conjunction with Tech Leads and SMEs in support of strategic business initiatives, smaller business driven projects and IT Foundations projects, ensuring they adhere to key DAS IT strategic goals.

This position will be instrumental in the investigation and research into the use of new technologies and lead proofs of concept, taking a hands-on approach, to demonstrate the value of new technologies and contributing towards sound business cases in order to support the procurement process.

The successful candidate will ensure the solutions selected and designed, align to the enterprise architecture, principles and governance.

Due to the nature of the role, it is important that the successful candidate is able to build close relationships across teams within the IT Department, other technical teams and business departments across the company.

About You

In addition, we are looking for candidates who can demonstrate :

  • Experience of Solutions Architecture, ideally TOGAF (or similar) qualified;
  • At least eight years working experience in one or multiple IT areas;
  • Knowledge of the development and implementation of IT strategy;
  • Demonstrable knowledge of IT Solutions & Architecture across : Application Infrastructure Security Data
  • Experience of designing solutions for deployment as cloud based solutions;
  • Familiarity with ITIL service management processes;
  • A working knowledge of the business analysis discipline and processes;
  • Experience of working in a regulated industry and structured environment. Ideally comfortable working in a traditional development environment and have experience in working as part of an Agile Development Team (knowledge and experience in DevOps would be an advantage); and
  • Good analytical skills.
  • Experience in the use of modelling tools a distinct advantage.
  • Whilst this is a full-time role, we are happy to consider flexible or part-time working arrangements.
