Why join the Data Intelligence team

The Data Intelligence team works in collaboration with the Marketing, Propositions, Pricing, Commercial and Finance teams across IAG Loyalty, as well as the other IAG operating airlines to analyse customer data and identify opportunities.

As a Centre of Excellence (CoE) for Data Intelligence services, it provides guidance, solutions, data science, audience segmentations to drive the loyalty lifecycle.

The CoE works in tandem with the operating airlines to ensure delivery and maximisation of the loyalty programmes. Together the members of the Data department strive to understand what the customer thinks and does and make sense of this insight to translate this knowledge into practical, actionable solutions which give competitive advantage.

At a Glance

The Senior Insight Analyst will work within the Data Intelligence department, initially supporting the Marketing department in their planning and washing-up of campaigns.

The successful candidate will look to drive a data driven approach to Marketing and CRM, embedding the loyalty lifecycle segments and other data models to drive customer engagement.

This role will cover a global customer base, working in partnership with the marketing and analytics teams and will report in to the Analysis and Insight Lead.

There will be an opportunity to rotate within the Analysis and Insight team into supporting other domains within the business after the first 12 months in role.

What you'll be doing

  • Performing analysis on customer data through coding and applying data analysis techniques to uncover opportunities and signals in the data to engage with customers
  • Tracking value, collate results and adding recommendations to assist with improving the effectiveness of marketing campaigns
  • Identifying opportunities to improve customer experience through a test and learn approach on airline marketing programmes, campaigns and digital data
  • Communicating effectively being able to articulate actionable insights in a simple and effective manner to the wider commercial & marketing teams both within IAGL and at the Operating Airlines
  • Working consultatively across IAG, sharing best practice.
  • Encouraging the whole business to be customer focused and data led to drive cultural change.
  • Sharing learnings across the Data department.
  • What we're looking for

  • Experience of analysing large datasets to deliver measurable impact.
  • A commitment to delivering quality work on time with excellent attention to detail
  • Experience in using data to drive personalised marketing communications to customers
  • Strong communication skills, the ability to share results and recommendations which are tailored to specific business audiences
  • Proactive mindset flagging opportunities to improve on how and what we do today.
  • A team player with a can do' attitude, who is flexible, willing to help others and support the team in delivery of key projects
  • Skills, qualifications, expertise and experience

  • Advanced level of knowledge in SQL and Excel essential (with minimum 5 years' experience).
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills essential (attained from a degree or relevant work experience).
  • Experience of using data to drive marketing planning and delivering analytics related to Marketing effectiveness
  • Understanding and track record in delivering attribution modelling across multiple channels
  • Experience of decision intelligence to use data to drive personalisation
  • Efficient in the use of statistical techniques, enabling easy interpretation and analysis of large amounts of data.
  • Ability to use advanced segmentation techniques including statistical regression
  • Experience in using CRM platforms such as Salesforce marketing cloud or equivalent
  • Strong influencing skills able to gain buy in and change mind sets to deliver long term sustainable positive change using data
  • Ability to show and measure business impact of their insight to the wider business
  • Experience of using reporting packages, e.g. Tableau, PowerBI
