You will join our Buildings Department

As our new Façade Engineer you will be part of expanding North West team based in the vibrant City of Manchester. Located centrally in the city, the bustling areas of Deansgate and Spinningfields are on the doorstep along with many of our ongoing projects.

The Metro system provides great transport links around the city, and key mainland train stations are also within easy walking distance.

Your key tasks and responsibilities will be :

Façade system design development, specification and testing

System structural analysis including glass analysis

Preparation of design stage reports and façade tender documentation

Thermal modelling and condensation analysis

Participation in façade workshops

Contractor technical audits, tender reviews, due diligence reviews

Site inspections / diagnostic work

Assist in maintaining the high-quality façade service offering

For this role, we believe your starting point is :

Degree qualified in either Structural or Mechanical Engineering, Architecture or other transferrable manufacturing / engineering discipline

MSc. in Façade Engineering is desirable but not essential

Proven experience in a façade design / engineering role

Proven experience with AutoCAD in 2D, (3D software an advantage)

Understanding and ability to use analysis software such as Mepla, Flixo, Vitrage, ANSYS etc.

Personal qualities that will help you succeed in this role include :

Excellent people skills and confident at influencing people (colleagues, clients, design team members and contractors)

High level of initiative and problem-solving skills can do’ attitude
