Position Purpose & Summary To work as part of the Maintenance team. This is an excellent opportunity to work as part of a highly skilled maintenance team to ensure the reliable operation of the plant assets.

The position will be responsible for providing electrical & instrumentation expertise, carrying out repairs on plant equipment in a timely and efficient manner and ensuring equipment is safe and fit for purpose.

The position holder will be responsible for safety permits where required and to provide first line supervision for all contactor activity.

The work will involve a range of Reactive, Preventative and Predictive Maintenance as required. You will propose improvements in maintenance Job Plans & Procedures in keeping with known standards of quality, safety and hygiene for reliable and consistent operation.

Trouble shooting and problem analysis are essential skills. You will work closely with production areas so you will need to demonstrate an ability to communicate effectively to ensure that daily goals are achieved.

Principal Accountabilities

  • To provide electrical & instrument support to the maintenance department in order to carry out repairs on all plant equipment and associated equipment in safe, timely and efficient manner
  • Complete maintenance work orders generated by MAXIMO
  • Carry out other support maintenance work when required
  • Ensure all machinery and equipment on site is both electrically and mechanically safe
  • Work with production closely when prioritising work load
  • Generate safety permits when required and provide first line supervision to all contractor activity
  • Provide feedback and improvement on work done & ideas on the MAXIMO system.
  • Qualifications

    Education, Experience, Skills

  • Served recognised Electrical & Instrumentation Apprenticeship
  • HNC or equivalent qualification in electrical / instrumentation / control engineering
  • Good knowledge and practice of 17th edition regulations
  • Experience with a Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS), preferably MAXIMO
  • Work and practical knowledge of inverters, soft starts, 3 phase motors and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC’s)
  • Basic mechanical skills e.g.
  • Ability to prioritise and manage time effectively
  • Committed to continuous development
  • Commitment to health and safety procedures, risk systems, permit to work procedures and condition auditing
  • Good communication skills
  • Experience managing contractors- preferred
  • Experience with LEAN manufacturing principles- preferred
  • RCM (Reliability Centred Maintenance), RCA (Root Cause Analysis) or FMEA (Failure Mode Effective Analysis).
