Job description Post Ref : CC479 An exciting new career opportunity has arisen to join our team of residential support staff with Calderdale Council.

You will be working within Children and Young People’s Services, caring for young people across our children’s home’s with highly qualified teams as well as our outreach service which supports young people who are still living at home which focuses on supporting the family to stay together, preventing family breakdown.

We are looking to appoint Casual Residential Support Workers to assist in supporting young people with their emotional, physical, social, education and leisure needs, as well as becoming a positive role model working part of a team in supporting & caring for our young people.

The ideal candidate will have the ability to communicate at multiple levels and build positive relationships with young people, working in close support with other team members, families and other professionals.

There will be an opportunity to work in a variety of settings which include Residential Childrens Homes, Short Breaks Disability and Outreach Service.

Due to the nature of the work, it is a legislative requirement that there be a five year gap between the oldest child on site and youngest member of staff.

Due to this restriction applications will be considered from those aged 21 or over. You will also need to have IT skills to be able to maintain records and have a flexible approach and be available to cover shifts including evenings, weekends and school and public holidays.
