Following the award of a Leverhulme Research Fellowship to Dr Hannah Greig, the Department seeks to appoint a Teaching and Scholarship Lecturer in Eighteenth-
Century and Public History. The position is based in the Department of History, Heslington, and available from 16 September 2019 - 15 September 2021.
You will be responsible for developing and delivering teaching across the Department within the area of Eighteenth-Century and Public history, contributing to the planning, design and delivery of teaching across a range of modules, as well as undertaking teaching-
related administrative and managerial duties. You will also investigate innovative teaching, learning and assessment methods and techniques in the sector generally, bringing new insights to the department and disseminate excellent teaching practices e.
g. through discipline or inter-disciplinary groups both within and beyond the University.
You should have a PhD in history or a cognate discipline relevant to the post, with a preference for an understanding of public history, including experience of public engagement and / or working with relevant organisations such as the heritage sector.
You should also ideally hold an appropriate teaching qualification with proven experience of successful planning, design and delivery of teaching across a range of modules at undergraduate, and preferably, postgraduate level.

The starting salary will be £39,609 a year on grade 7 of the University’s salary scales.
