Position at Wavemaker

Role context :

  • Wavemaker Studio Graphic Designer
  • Were looking for an ambitious conceptual graphic designer to work within our studio team to create engaging marketing & creative content on behalf of some of the UKs most famous brands.
  • The role is designed for someone currently working with a brand, media owner or agency - who is ready for a career-defining next step.
  • The creation and delivery of engaging visual content is your primary focus.
  • Youre as much of a creative as you are a technician driven to turn ideas into reality creating work whether adaptation of existing assets or origination from concept to realisation that will stand out and move people.
  • Core responsibilities :

  • Your primary responsibility will be to deliver high-quality design for print, digital and social platforms - delivering visually engaging work with flair for both clients and internal teams (marketing, comms, content).
  • Brainstorm with our creative team on the best design approach for their ideas in order to communicate the campaign message visually.
  • Create and suggest different styles and design options for each campaign.
  • Developing a visual design-based campaign out of a written brief.
  • You will support the ideation of content by either assisting colleagues in bringing their ideas to life, advising on production or creating original ideas in response to the brief.
  • You will be able to evaluate a clients current assets and provide a response that shows how those assets could be effectively used on digital or print platforms.
  • You will work within our Studios production workflow to create visual design content - this could include image sourcing with light manipulation and colour corrections, creation of charts, infographics and data visualisations for presentations, campaign work for clients (origination or adaptation) for social media platforms, out of home, web and print.
  • You will ensure that each campaign is delivered in line with the project timeline to the satisfaction of all project stakeholders.
  • Ensure all design work is delivered on time, within tight deadlines, on budget and to the Studios benchmark of effectiveness beautifully crafted and creatively executed to stand out on platform.
  • Pitch, plan and collaborate where necessary.
  • Research imagery, and relevant stock to support creative treatments and assets.
  • Work flexibly and reactively to our Studio workflow.
  • Have your finger on the pulse of the latest trends and developments in design and content across social platforms and technology / devices.
  • Client Servicing :

  • You will be expected to build strong, effective relationships with clients for your campaigns maintaining relationships of trust and respect.
  • Commercials :

  • Accurate and timely reporting of hours on timesheets
  • Team

  • You will work closely with, and be mentored by, the Production Lead as together you work to identify & complete training needs to make continuous improvement a priority.
  • In the day to day, you will work closely with our creative team; and colleagues from other Wavemaker teams outside of Studio to ensure all aspects of the content are delivered in an integrated fashion
  • Required Skills / Experience :

  • Technical proficiency with Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and Microsoft Powerpoint.
  • Experience in Adobe After Effects and Premiere Pro would be ideal too.
  • A portfolio of work for brand(s), media owner(s) or creative / media agency.
  • Driven by the creation of the highest quality original creative content.
  • Attention to detail on all pieces of work.
  • A passion for visual storytelling and design
  • Experience in managing several projects simultaneously
  • An eye for design and detail, a creative and clever mind, a willingness to step in and take on tasks that often involve tight deadlines and working with multiple stakeholders
  • Calm, courteous, culturally aware and highly collaborative, understanding that sometimes we are working to tight deadlines that require a level of flexibility and going over and beyond
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and an enthusiastic and personable team player.
  • Must be accustomed to working to tight deadlines and be extremely well organised.
