You'll join us as a Relief Support Worker working at our supported living service in Monkmoor, Shrewsbury. Relief work (sometimes known as Bank) means you'll cover when our permanent staff are on holiday, and at times of additional need.
About the role
You will play a key part in assisting the people we support to live as independently as possible. You will join in with their favourite pastimes and hobbies, helping them be active members of their local community.
The people we support enjoy going to bingo, canoeing, attending the local disco, going out for meals and volunteer work.
They both have a fantastic outlook on life and enjoy socialising with others.
One of the people we support is fairly independent and enjoys volunteer work and the other person enjoys attending varied services accessing activities that they really enjoy taking part in.
They need help with general household chores such as cleaning, washing and managing their household finances and from time to time require some support with visits to appointments with the Dentist and GP.
Relief shifts usually cover days, evenings, weekends and sleep-ins. We will provide you with full training and with day-
to-day help and advice from your Head of Service.
The work can be demanding and doesn't suit everyone, but if it's right for you, you'll find it incredibly rewarding and valuable.
