At Ocado Technology we build the software systems powering our next generation fulfilment centres, which are core to the Ocado Smart Platform.
Our software employs complex algorithms and business logic to schedule and coordinate the work of hundreds of people fulfilling customer orders.
This includes receiving stock from suppliers, decanting and storing inventory, dealing with exceptions and picking and dispatching orders.
Efficiency and accuracy are at the centre of everything we do. We are building the new technology platform that enables our sites to run around the clock and complete hundreds of thousands of orders per week.
We are Software Engineers with a range of experience levels who are passionate about producing high-quality products, are enthusiastic team players and keen to take initiative in designing and implementing new solutions.
What does the team do?
We are the Supply Chain UI team and we deliver an intuitive UI which makes managing demand in Supply Chain easy, fulfils the Ocado Solutions product requirements, and follows best software engineering and architectural practices.
Working with partners around the world, our team strives to create the next-generation UI that will facilitate the job of demand managers.
We obsess about user experience and automation. To do this we use cutting edge technology, and when that's not enough, we push the boundaries of what's possible.
The Supply Chain UI team is made up of 8 talented engineers, Team Leader and Product Manager and works closely with members of the UX and Product teams.
What would I be doing?
We are looking for an engineer to bring their passion for building polished, effective solutions to the problems we set out to tackle.
The supply chain UI is built upon React and Redux using TypeScript and is backed by a Java microservice backend.
You will plan, develop and test key features of our UI, partnering with the UX design and product management teams to innovate and create new design and interaction concepts that support a rich user experience.
You will work closely with our API engineers to define underlying interfaces that support your projects. You will take an active role in shaping the workflow and processes of your cross-functional team to create an environment that works for you.
