About the role :
Jacobs is currently recruiting an engineer or scientist with Thermal Hydraulics Expertise to join our Advanced Reactors business and develop their skills and experience to work with our team and support our clients.
As the demand for our expertise continues to grow, an opportunity has arisen to work in the area of nuclear engineering, specialising in thermal hydraulics analysis, working in our Knutsford office to support a number of UK and international nuclear projects.
You will be a key part of our team, supporting a wide range of consultancy projects, small and large, for a variety of clients across the nuclear industry, including new build projects, SMR and AMRs, existing civil and defence plant, fusion reactor design and decommissioning.
Mentoring and training will be provided to support the development of your technical and professional skills throughout your career at Jacobs.
In this role you will have the opportunity to work on various applications of reactor technology, potentially including SMRs, AMRs, fusion reactor designs and looking at reactor and associated thermal hydraulic performance, safety performance and other aspects of nuclear reactor technology.
You will gain detailed knowledge of nuclear data and their application in a variety of modern physics codes, specialising in thermal hydraulic applications and associated analysis.
You will also be challenged to develop your skills and experience as well as being provided with opportunities to build a successful career.
