Product Owner - Based at our office in Dalgety Bay, Scotland.

Your day-to-day responsibilities include :

  • You will be a product owner who is responsible for leading their teams to the realisation of fit for purpose outcomes in a maintainable and secure way.
  • You will be a subject matter expert and a leader within the UK R&D team.
  • You work with stakeholders to establish the priority of tasks for your team.
  • You ensure your team is working within the development and QA framework and the team can comply with all audits and processes.
  • You manage requirements and drive definition / clarification with stakeholders so that the Dev and QA has a ready backlog.
  • You provide leadership and mentorship for those in your onshore team.
  • You provide leadership and direction to offshore teams and ensure integration with onshore teams.
  • You work with other teams and wider stakeholders to work on inter dependencies and any blocking issues.
  • You strive to find the most effective way for your team to deliver and lead and initiate improvements as required.
  • You actively contribute and lead wider continuous improvement activities as well as encouraging team participation.
  • You are seen as experts by our customers and help with consultancy activities, lead customer facing engagements and contribute to our journey towards professional services.
  • You spot new trends within our industry globally and to bring that knowledge along with your expertise to shape our future technical direction.
  • Signs of success :

  • You deliver software released to satisfy customer outcomes.
  • You deliver low levels of defect discovery.
  • You achieve great customer feedback / satisfaction.
  • You deliver software with low levels of rework required.
  • You lead a team with a high velocity of work delivered.
  • You delivery against project contract (barring agreed exceptions).
  • You have an evidence trail for issues raised and follow up as required.
  • You follow process and ensure quality of investigation and problem definition.
  • You deliver speed of turnaround for blocking items and / or evidence trail to support exceptions.
  • You document supporting processes that stand up to audit.
  • You lead a team able to cope despite illness / holidays etc.
  • You deliver no security failures.
  • You provide talent development evidence.
  • You capitalise on opportunities to automate activity or improve.
  • You adopt new working practices / processes / technology.
  • Skills we can’t do without :

  • You have business Analysis / requirements skills.
  • You have Product roadmap skills.
  • You have software team lead experience.
  • You are hands-on, autonomous, self-motivated and must enjoy working within a changing & dynamic organisation.
  • You are able to work across multiple products and priorities.
  • You can work under pressure.
  • You work with customers (both internal & external).
  • You have excellent client facing skills.
  • You are self-motivated with high level of energy and drive.
  • You are an influential communicator, able to explain complex technicalities to management.
  • You possess high levels of professionalism and business ethics.
  • You have strong facilitation and negotiation skills.
