Job Description : The Operational Excellence Leader for European Operations reports to the Director of Operational Excellence for BW Packaging Systems and is responsible in cooperation with all European site leaders for implementing BW Packaging Systems Step Change strategies and L3-
enabled competencies at all manufacturing sites. The individual in this role will establish best practices in Lean-principled operations and performance improvement across all sites, to support attainment of local, division and platform-
wide performance targets. This person will be the key leader of application of Committed L3 principles across European operations, to grow and leverage our L3 culture for performance improvement.

75% Responsibilities : Customer Trust : Responsible for supporting site teams to develop and implement performance improvement Roadmaps in key areas of Customer Trust-
lead times improvement, warranty reduction, and customer satisfaction. Drive initiatives that reduce cost, take out waste, and improve satisfaction and fulfillment by associates at each site.
Co-Champion change leadership with the site leaders to create a culture of continuous improvement , where application of Lean / L3 tools and behaviors are the norm Leadership : Provide Coaching, training, and mentoring, thru direct hands-
on engagement with all levels of leadership. Put the Guiding Principles of Leadership into daily action, and actively model Truly Human Leadership strategies and philosophies.
Help a wide array of leaders across the organization become far better at leading their functions via application of Lean tools and principles Metrics : Responsible for assisting all sites to achieve consistent operational KPI’s that have been targeted by Roadmap initiatives for improvement.
Continuously analyzes and improves key business and Customer Trust indicators : costs, lead times, on-time performance, and reducing inventory working capital.
Conceives and leads initiatives that drive performance improvement for KPI’s e.g., cost blitz Operations Training : Identifies the need and supports all training requirements across sites.
Arranges and / or delivers needed L3 / Lean-based training e.g., Improve Like a Leader, Applied L3 Workshop, Kepner-Tregoe decision support, and any other ad hoc training as required Strategy and Vision : Responsible for coaching, training and implementation of BW Packaging Systems strategies.
Customer Trust : Establish higher levels of Customer Trust through greater alignment of customer need with the internal processes and behaviors that are intended to satisfy the customer.
Establish flow and reduce errors and defects that impact the customer and drive warranty cost Visual Leadership / Accountability Leadership : Drive daily work in Mission Control Room settings to ensure a strong PDCA cycle of execution excellence i.

Collaborate with local site L3 leaders regarding overall Packaging objectives, and grow their personal impact to their organizations.
Ensure that all BW cultural objectives and norms are sustained and enhanced Requirements : Bachelor’s degree required. Minimum ten to fifteen years of operations leadership experience with proven results.
Five years of experience in direct application of Lean methods in a Lean-principled organization Excellent ability to lead and coach across global multi-
cultural operations. Able to influence all levels and drive new behaviors, from executives to plant floor associates Strong operational acumen, with experience in tackling and solving complex operational issues of quality, cost, delivery, etc.
Exceptional written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to interact with and establish trust and credibility with all levels of the organization Deep experience using Lean tools to improve performance across a wide array of issues.
Strong and disciplined problem-solving skills. Excellent decision-making skills. Highly analytical; makes fact-based decisions.
Knows how to get to the root cause of problems and performance gaps Broad business experience and sound understanding of basic business fundamentals in a machinery and engineering-
