Specialty Doctor in Neuropsychiatry
About the role :
Along with their consultant colleagues and neuropsychiatry lead consultant, the post holder will provide the clinical input to Neuropsychiatry service and the team.
The post-holder will run outpatient clinics, carry out inpatient assessments on the neurosciences wards and participate in the team meetings.
The post holder will be encouraged to participate in relevant research and audit activity within the Neuropsychiatry service.
The post-holder would be expected to build on the good relationship with neurosciences clinicians at St George’s Hospital for the treatment of neuropsychiatry patients.
About the team :
The neuropsychiatry service is a regional neuropsychiatry service closely allied to the Atkinson Morley Regional Neurosciences Centre.
This is one of the three main regional neuropsychiatry units in London. The service houses a large outpatient neuropsychiatry service with a large inpatient liaison neuropsychiatry service component.
Last year service received over 500 new referrals for assessment and management. Service is based at Grosvenor Wing at St Georges.

The SWLSTG NHS Neuropsychiatry Service team base is located on the Mental Health & Social Services section on the 2nd floor Grosvenor Wing , St George’s Hospital, London SW17 0QT.
The team base has shared facilities with both permanent and hot-desking availability. Clinicians are able to attend consulting clinics and see patients from the Willow Annex Entrance C, a designated rota and shared Clinic consulting-rooms Space, Perimeter Road, St George’s Hospital, London SW17 0QT.
This is easily accessible via the Northern Line (Tooting Broadway Station) and via private transport. The SWLSTG NHS Neuropsychiatry Service team have limited available pool parking permit for all our substantive staff.
Our Trust headquarters is located within the impressive grounds of Springfield University Hospital, off-Glenburnie Road in Tooting and we also operate in nearly 100 other locations throughout the UK.
This is easily accessible via the Northern Line (Tooting Bec Station) and via private transport. The Trust provides subsidised parking fares for all our substantive staff.
