Stellar opportunity for a bright, hands-on but ambitious Senior Accountant / FM / FC to join this fun, creative and über-
cool media / entertainment start-up which although in early stages is already rapidly growing with an established client base & market position.
As a result they have created a new position to take responsibility for their actuals (full P&L and balance sheet) and operational finance as well as managing a small, evolving finance team.
Reporting to the FD your key responsibilities will include :
Responsible for the timely, accurate and complete production of the monthly management accounts in accordance with GAAP, providing analysis against budget, reporting to the budget holders.
Deliver credible, accurate and timely reporting to budget holders and undertake monthly finance meetings to review actuals and active queries.
Responsible for developing and providing timely and accurate cost reporting on all production activities (including TV and Commercial projects).
Working with the production teams to ensure all costs are captured and variances are understood.
Documenting the accounting policies and internal audit.
Ensuring all inputs are prepared accurately and in a timely manner for the rolling budgets, annual and quarterly reforecasting processes.
Maintaining trackers of key metrics such as contractor days worked, credit card payments and revenue breakdowns.
Leading on all internal and external audits.
Responsible for cash management within the business, including cash forecasting, review of payment runs, controls and tracking of cash held on site and bank related queries.
Responsible for ensuring all financial policies, processes and controls are documented, regularly reviewed and complied with across the business, working closely with internal audit, HR, and supporting and advising the creative team.
Developing and implementing new finance processes as the business grows (eg managing international licensing collections, tracking revenue and accruals, )
Leading the specification and implementation of new systems and enhancements to support the growing pipeline of revenue and production activities.
This will involve working closely with operational & IT teams. Systems to be implemented include commercial revenue pipeline tracking,
Drive continuous improvements of processes, data integrity & strong financial controls.
Supporting the production units for both TV and commercial productions with finance processes, reporting and ensuring that potential cost overruns are highlighted and addressed.
Managing and training a team of 3
Fully qualified Accountant (ACA, CIMA or ACCA) with substantial PQE experience
Proven expertise in managing a month-end management accounting / reporting and controls function
A background working in agency-model companies with experience in project cost reporting preferred.
A pro-active self-starter able to identify problems and find solutions.
An organised, logical and structured approach to processes and workflow.
Able to influence at all levels of an organisation and build strong relationships across the business.
Ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment and provide rigour and stability.
Excellent excel and data analysis skills.
