Job Description

Monarch Education are currently recruiting a Full-Time Primary SEN Teaching Assistant to work in a KS1 / KS2 SEN Alternative Provision School in North Bristol.

This school caters for SEN pupils from 5 11 yrs with Social, Emotional, Behavioural & Mental Health Difficulties.

This school has capacity for up to 60 pupils and has facilities to support pupils in a range of vocational and core subjects across 7 classes.

This includes English, Mathematics, Science, Art & Design, Citizenship, Computing, Design & Technology, Languages, Geography, History, Music, Physical Education, Religious Education and Forest School.

Pupils at the school are supported in their needs by a dedicated team of experienced, talented and caring staff who tailor the education and learning for pupils to meet their individual needs and learning levels.

The staff here aim to inspire, motivate and challenge all their pupils, whilst simultaneously providing a therapeutic context for their individual difficulties.

  • The right candidate for this role will :

  • Have a full-time availability to work from 8.30am 3.30pm Monday to Friday
  • Have experienced of working with Challenging Behaviour and poses excellent behaviour management strategies
  • Be a creative, committed and engaging practitioner
  • Be resilient, calm and patient
  • Positive Handling Trained (Or willing to undertake a TeamTeach Course provided by Monarch Education)
  • The ability to be flexible and adapt learning plans with students in accordance to their needs
  • Be a positive practitioner who has a keen interest in making a positive impact on those who face challenges socially, emotionally and academically
  • The school is easily accessible via Public Transport and via Junction 18 of the M5 for those who wish to drive. There is also on site parking for all staff.
