A Global Travel brand is looking for Lead SQL Database Administrator to come in an own their current disparate DBA function and automate the way database deployments are done.

The company are going through a massive digital transformation having scaled rapidly over the last few years and are looking for a Lead SQL Database Administrator to unify the DBA team to all work from a central platform whilst optimising the ways of working in line with agile.

This will be a hands-on technical position where the Lead SQL Database Administrator will be working closely with developers on any changes being made to the production database, making changes to the SQL server database in line with releases and monitoring production environments for any issues.

Thereafter, the Lead SQL Database Administrator will be troubleshooting any issues within the database including optimisation and performance tuning.

This will be a wide-ranging role split between the leadership of disparate teams and ensure they are being productive but also getting involved technically to lead on improvements to the way databases are being administered and developed.

The Successful Lead SQL Database Administrator will have :

  • Strong knowledge working on SQL server
  • Experience working with developers on releases
  • Working with monitoring tools to manage production environments : New Relic, ELK stack, Nagios
  • Experience previously leading a team
  • This is a great contract for any Lead SQL Database Administrator to make change in a global enterprise working to own a function that still needs maturing as the business goes through this massive transformation.
