Network Asset Support, Manager

Location - Knowsley, Merseyside L34 9JA

Salary - competitive + 15% bonus and benefits

Job Purpose

Leads and manages the Network Asset Management team to achieve targeted levels of performance to deliver to SLA and ensure all functions and tasks deliver on time and within budget

Input to the overall strategic direction of the Network Assurance Support Operations Team to deliver high quality, results focussed teams within an organisation undergoing high levels of structural and cultural change

Develop a highly engaged, highly accountable, compact and agile team,

To deliver high quality process that reduces costs by controlling all Network Asset support budget and spend.

To manage controls, policies and processes that ensure the CTIO supports Virgin Media strategy of being the most recommended brand

To ensure Governance and compliance to legislation and SLAs to meet NRWSA requirements

Identify opportunities to reduce costs and improve process across all Capex and Opex cost lines.

M eet all quality standards and internal and regulatory requirements.

Principle Responsibilities

  • Manages and Develops the Network Assurance Support team to deliver against agreed strategy
  • Ensuring provision of the most efficient working practice to support internal / external customers
  • Ensure we meet all relevant SLAs
  • Leads and develops the operational support team to drive efficiencies and cost reduction
  • Manages the payment of contract partners to meet budget and forecast requirements
  • Develops a reporting suite to provide insight and allow performance management of the team
  • Delivers all plans to meet legislative requirements for NAM activity
  • Identifies and delivers operational efficiencies within a lean framework
  • Leads and develops the team in driving performance and engagement to deliver business object ives
  • Analyse, design, develop and Cost Assurance control systems and processes to support operational activities,
  • Identify and correct service and process issues to maximize budget and reduce waste.
  • Ensure that all costs are reconciled and transacted promptly and to a high degree of assurance and accuracy, while minimising processing costs.
  • Design compliance exceptions reports in order to help identify, report, monitor and resolve cost issues.
  • Identify and manage action plans to enhance cost controls
  • Works closely with the People Team to develop high performance from all employees (in house and outsourced) living the Virgin values to deliver a simply brilliant customer service
  • Identifies and develops talent ensuring a robust succession plan at all levels
  • Promotes a Zero Harm culture

  • Awareness of legal and statutory obligations in relation to the Highways Act and Planning Standards
  • Relevant experience in a similar management role.
  • A track record of leading a process oriented operation function, including the development of short, medium and longer-term operational strategies.
  • Sound experience of project management techniques including planning, resource allocation, delegation, prioritization, evaluation, escalation and collaboration.

  • Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Excellent communication and IT skills (both written and oral)
  • Previous experience of managing high performing teams within a fast moving environment
  • Team player able to work collaboratively across multiple teams
