Role Profile :

The Network Services business has a turnover of circa £100m from the major fixed and wireless operators, Enterprise and Public Safety & Defence customers.

It employs in excess of 500 people across the country to provide ICT services.

Supporting this business is a dedicated finance team of 11 including the Finance Business Partner. The team is responsible for providing tailored financial information to aid business critical decision making as well as ensuring accurate and timely management accounting information (P&L, full balance sheet and cash) to the central finance team for onward reporting to the Board.

There is significant scope within the team to be involved with all aspects of the Network Services business.

Network Services is looking to fill a Senior Management Accountant role with the key focus of supporting the Customer Services and Project team to drive the best financial results from our contracts.

The individual’s responsibility will be to manage a team of 4 to provide financial support to the project community using the key finance systems (Oracle and PBCS).

The role will support the Network Services business to exceed its financial targets by working closely with the project leads to ensure accurate invoicing, cost and cash management and forecasting.

Proactive engagement at all levels will be required to ensure that risks and opportunities are identified at the earliest point.

Typical Deliverables :

  • Working with the Project and Customer Services Teams Project Accounting for over 50 projects ensuring accuracy of reported numbers, robust forecasting and strong working capital management
  • Project & Month End Accounting - Order, Sales & Margin for Network Services Business
  • Support Monthly Business & Contract Reviews for business and P&L Owners focusing on driving profitability, identifying risks and forecast accuracy.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting input into the annual budgets and quarterly forecasts to PBCS with a monthly updated forecast for Business Reporting.
  • Working Capital Analysis with emphasis on accurate cash forecasting and working capital management.
  • Support Bidding process and mobilisation of new wins.
  • Team Management and Development
  • Continuous improvements looking at improving accuracy and timeliness
  • Business Operations Skills Experience :

  • Relevant project experience required
  • Staff management and development experience required
  • Business Operations Skills Qualifications :

  • Minimum 5 GCSEs grade A-C with at least B in Mathematics
  • CIMA / ACA / ACCA Qualified accountant
