Key responsibilities :

  • Including but not limited to the following :
  • Lead the supply chain program for the Business Unit in conjunction with the overall Procurement & Capex Strategy, Head of Procurement, Global Category Leads and the CPO.
  • Own the supplier management of key nominated suppliers.
  • Support the design and development commercially acceptable sourcing strategies for the business and to deliver best cost solutions within the role’s own category management and in conjunction with category leads for other commodities.
  • Lead the BU supply chain team responsible for the delivery of initiatives.
  • Work with other procurement and operation leaders across the business to leverage spend and procurement power within the Manufacturing and Technology Division.
  • Identify opportunities and work closely with internal stakeholders and suppliers on current and new initiatives.
  • Lead the team managing and working with forecasting capex; managing inventory and supporting key suppliers to improve the importance of the business and develop and introduce innovation and best practice wherever possible.
  • Be part of the negotiation team for the strategic BU category, in conjunction with the Global Category Leads / and where applicable on procurement initiatives.
  • Be the senior supply chain lead for the BU for contract agreement in conjunction with key stakeholders and implementation.
  • Oversee the development of the post contract process to enable performance management and governance for new and existing contracts within the BU.
  • Be the lead for the business dashboard for supplier & inventory performance for the BU related contracts.
  • Be the key point of escalation for supplier & inventory issues within the BU for all spend areas.
  • Lead the supply chain communications for the BU for all savings, spend and supplier developments
  • Work closely with the BU finance and operational based stakeholders.
  • Develop the capability of the team and implement the appropriate organization to support business requirements.
  • Be able to provide on-hand training and coaching in areas such as strategic sourcing, negotiation strategy, supplier segmentation, planning and inventory management.
  • Be proficient in the use of eProcurement & ERP tools.
  • Be a key member of the Group procurement team and any other appropriate excellence committees.
  • Person Specification :

    Education / Qualifications

    Educated to degree level. Chartered Membership of CIPS / APICS or equivalent Professional Qualification.

    Professional skills / experience

  • Experienced in leading a supply chain function or working with a team of category leads to manage direct spend for goods and services across a multi-site organisation, geography and BU operations.
  • Experienced and comfortable in working in a matrix style company on a global basis.
  • Experience in a supply chain leadership role within the manufacturing industry and ability to adopt pragmatic commercial solutions to issues.
  • Must have proven track record in managing multiple stakeholders across a broad range of countries and cultures.
  • At least 8-10 years’ experience in supply chain managing complex commercial delivery programs and having ultimate responsibility for procurement, forecasting and inventory spend within either a country and / or business unit.
  • Experience of leading supply chain programs within BU environment and providing stakeholder coaching in the design and development of sourcing strategies.
  • Track record in managing strategic suppliers and providing senior escalation for supplier contract issues and governance.
  • Understanding of procurement contracts best practice.
  • Excellent understanding of contract law and intellectual property rights.
  • Strong understanding of contract law as it relates to service and materials arrangements within the local market.
  • Sound understanding of data protection and privacy law.
  • Fluency in another language desirable. English is a must.
  • PC literate including Excel, MS PowerPoint and MS Project.
