Job Overview

Reportingto the EARC region Senior Director, Supply Chain this position will lead the supplychain activities for the UK offices of McDermott.

This includes both awarded projects andprojects being tendered.

Key Responsibilities / Accountabilities

  • Management of the Supply Chain function across multiple offices covering procurement, subcontracts, expediting, source inspection and materials management.
  • Accountable for the performance of supply chain activities in accordance with McDermott’s policies and procedures.
  • Actively promote and assure compliance with all QHSES policies and procedures
  • Oversees systems, equipment and personnel resources
  • Monitor all supply chain related activities and performance, providing direction and support needed to team members, so as to ensure the successful and efficient delivery of project and non project requirements.
  • Support individual Project Supply Chain Managers on all matters related to the execution of the project supply chain strategy and the effective acquisition of the project materials, equipment and services.
  • Ensure conformance with the company policies and procedures by the supply chain team and contribute to continuous improvement of work methodologies and processes.
  • Perform audits to monitor compliance where necessary.

  • Review and approve commercial bid evaluations, purchase orders and change orders in accordance with the Delegation of Authority matrix.
  • Be the focal point for engagement with potential suppliers and subcontractors, coordinating and leading meetings or competence evaluations with engineering and operations functions.
  • Be an active part of the functional leadership team in the operating offices.
  • Represent the supply chain function in project or proposal cost and strategy reviews.
  • Provide support to project cost controls where applicable.
  • Carry out monthly reporting activities as required.
  • Carry out periodic performance reviews, goal setting and maintenance of the career development plan for all direct reports
  • Set up and maintain a training plan for all direct reports to ensure continuous learning and development
  • Basic Qualifications :

  • Relevant supply chain experience in Oil and Gas industry
  • Experience in a management role within the supply chain function with direct reports
  • Bachelors degree (or equivalent)
  • Lump sum EPC experience, preferably across onshore, offshore and subsea projects
  • Strong ethics and integrity values
  • Familiar with supply chain procedures, standards and codes
  • Self motivated but works well with others and understands the value of teamwork
  • Desired / Preferred Qualifications :

  • Certification with ISM or CIPS
  • Ability to quickly learn complex software packages and be able to teach others
  • Strong negotiations skills
  • Flexible and adaptable to different situations and demands
