About the Department

Design at Goldsmiths is about questioning. Our students develop critical, conceptual design practices, which both challenge our understanding of the world around us and define new concepts for our future.

The role of the Administrative Team, within the Department of Design, is to support all aspects of a lively and dynamic department, with four primary areas of responsibility - recruitment, assessment, information signposting, and both staff and student wellbeing.

About the Role

The Department Coordinator will support the Department Manager in processing all assessments, generating and maintaining timetables, and supporting student pastoral care.

They will be responsible, in coordination with the Department Manager and Assistant Manager, for the administrative structures and processes of the department and ensuring excellent student support.

They will also be pivotal in ensuring consistent support for our students from recruitment to graduation and beyond.

About the Candidate

The successful candidate will demonstrate :

  • Excellent communication, IT and organisational skills
  • Staff supervision and in-person support experience
  • Experience of generating and maintaining office systems
  • Ideally, experience of Higher Education administrative processes
  • The Department of Design is predominantly Mac based so familiarity with Mac computers would be advantageous.
