Delphi Technologies is a high-technology company that integrates safer, greener and more connected solutions for the automotive sector.

Based in Gillingham, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following duties :

  • Leading product engineering activities on the development of a range of Diesel Fuel System components (For Passenger Car and Commercial Vehicle Applications)
  • Ensuring that the products are developed to the required cost, performance and quality targets whilst ensuring flawless launch of customer programs

  • Lead and motivate the team, develop and approve career progression, succession and training plans, identify Hi-potentials within the department
  • Perform Personal Business Plans for direct reports, monitor and review PBPs of the department, and ensure execution in the required time frame
  • Ensure that Delphi Technologies IP is sufficiently protected by patents, trade secrets and publications
  • Approve product releases and department spending in-line with approval processes
  • Represent Delphi Technologies at Customers, congresses and suppliers
  • Act as Product Engineering Stakeholder and Approver for Design Reviews, Gate Reviews and Technical changes
  • Act as a sponsor and Champion in problem solving projects
  • Set targets, approve implementation plans and monitor progress in order to meet department and PBU targets, Budget, Resources, Performance metrics and Quality Standards
  • Ensure information is cascaded and communicated within the department
  • Define and balance priorities and resolve conflicts in a timely manner
  • Ensure risk escalation is correctly executed in the department
  • Position Requirements

    The successful candidate will possess the following skills and experience :

  • Extensive demonstrable experience in a similar role in the automotive industry
  • Extensive experience leading product engineering activities on the development of a range of Diesel Fuel System components.
  • Degree (or equivalent) in mechanical engineering or related subject
  • Experience in large team management
  • Personal and presentation skills to drive external customer meetings at a senior level, and communicate at various level of organisations
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage several tasks at once
  • Ability to lead, plan, and ensure execution of projects and activities in the Engineering team, and work with cross-functional teams across different sites and countries.
  • Good written and spoken fluency in English
  • Current IT knowledge of MS Office products, MS Project etc.
