Currently we are looking for candidates for the position of :

Construction Environmental Health and Safety Manage

Duties & Responsibilities

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Regulatory and Legislative responsibility for all EHS requirements and industry development in EHS; integrate into processes where relevant and transfer knowledge of EHS standards, policies, and programs to contractor and Solenis engineering teams.
  • Coach / advise / deliver training to support shared learning and build capability.

  • Lead the Engineering Managers and teams during the execution of maintenance activities, turnarounds and project delivery with regard to EHS issues.
  • Provide expert leadership in EHS investigations.

  • Develop & update project & maintenance health, safety and environment documentation in accordance with relevant safety regulations, codes and standards e.
  • g. CDM regulations and Solenis guidelines .

  • Encourage zero incident mind-set and set the safety expectations for engineering personnel including regular safety and housekeeping audits.
  • Ensure safe working systems and practices are followed, taking responsibility for personal actions and the safety of others.

    Ensure personal compliance with all procedures which control the major accident hazards. Provide feedback on audits and incidents in the form of briefing notes and Tool Box Talks.

  • Prepare and issue Excavation Permits and Roof Work Procedures including approval of Method statements and Risk Assessments.
  • Work with your manager and team to identify your learning and development needs, and work towards an agreed learning and development plan.
  • This includes attending training courses and completion of self-learning packages.

    The Individual

    Minimum 5 years’ experience, advising or managing Construction Health & Safety mainly being site based

  • Educated to a minimum of NVQ level 6, (ideally degree level) in Engineering discipline or equivalent
  • NEBOSH Certificate in Construction Health and Safety
  • NEBOSH Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety
  • Experienced and competent in Construction Design & Management Regulations 2015
  • High Level of Computer Competence i.e. Microsoft office
  • Good communication and networking skills
  • Fluent in English
  • Prepared to travel within the UK as required
  • Physical capability to climb vertical ladders and access equipment e.g. Scaffolding
