Balfour Beatty has an exciting opportunity for a Junior Marketing Communications Executive to join our Enabling Functions team to work in Sheffield.

Role Purpose :

To develop marketing communications that drive value for our business and enhance our reputation.

What you'll be doing

As a Junior Marketing Communications Executive and as a key member of the UK Communications team, the scope of this role includes, but is not limited to, the duties described below :

  • Working with the wider communications team to deliver communications plans that are aligned to Group and SBU strategies and objectives;
  • Develop, manage and maintain our self-service marketing channels, ensuring a high quality of service is maintained at all times;
  • Ensure that all SBU marketing communications are in alignment with and supportive of the Group strategy and conform to the corporate brand standards;
  • Understand and promote Group initiatives / programmes such as My Contribution, Zero Harm, Sustainability etc. for the benefit of SBU stakeholders;
  • Craft high-quality copy for use across all communications channels such as website, brochures, flyers, presentations, events materials etc.
  • Administer company websites via content management systems;
  • Monitor and continually review the companys online presence on external channels such as Google Search Console, Wikipedia, Google and Apple Maps, joint venture websites and project websites;
  • Develop content for and monitor our social media channels, working with the Media & PR and other teams to ensure timely and accurate posting and sharing of content;
  • Produce, manage and publish corporate video content, working closely with the wider communications team and business to maximise promotion internally and externally;
  • Ensure issues, opportunities and key milestones that you become aware of through your interactions with the business and external stakeholders are shared in a timely manner with the wider communications team to enable them to deliver aligned communications outputs;
  • Facilitate sharing of success and learning, continuous improvement and best practice among the wider Communications team and Communications community of practice;
  • Manage external relationships with external suppliers, ensuring high quality, value for money outputs;
  • Explore and keep up-to-date with marketing trends and developments.
  • Who we're looking for

    Essential :

  • Level 3 or above qualification in marketing, public relations, communications or a related field;
  • Excellent communication, copywriting and interpersonal skills with strong attention to detail;
  • Strongly-focused on delivering results collaboratively, with quality and creativity;
  • Good stakeholder management skills;
  • Team player with ability to work with individuals across multiple geographical locations;
  • Adapts positively to changing business demands;
  • A self-starter with good organisation skills and the ability to manage conflicting deadlines;
  • Willingness to travel as required.
  • Desirable :

  • Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud apps and website content management systems;
  • Member of CIM or CIPR with demonstration of ongoing commitment to career professional development.
